Modern bed and breakfast/ Guest House - all rooms en-suite and on
ground floor:
At the appletree guest house we pride ourselves on providing guests
with a warm Scottish welcome, comfortable beds and excellent
breakfasts. TripAdvisor rate the appletree bed and breakfast as being
the number one bed and breakfast in Prestwick (June 2010). Our guest
reviews speak volumes about our personal service, please have a look for
yourself.
Glasgow (Prestwick) airport is only 5 minutes from the appletree
guest house by car or 20 minutes if walking. Prestwick railway station
is also nearby, 10 minutes walk. A range of excellent bars and
restaurants are located within five minutes walk. Prestwick Golf Club
(birthplace of the Open), St Nicholas and St Cuthberts are also within
walking distance of the bed and breakfast. Golf packages can be
arranged.
Free wireless internet access is provided throughout the guest
house.
Our rooms are exceptionally clean and are decorated in a modern
stylish manner which complements their original Victorian features. Our
quality beds and crisp fresh linen ensure a comfortable and restful
night's sleep. All en-suites have modern power showers which are an
ideal way to provide a refreshing start to your day.
All rooms in the guest house have flat screen televisions with built
in DVD players and iPod docking stations. Hospitality trays are
provided in all rooms along with hairdryers, clothes brushes and
complimentary confectionary. We welcome families with children and
can provide a travel cot if required.
A full Scottish or continental breakfast is included in our
standard bed and breakfast room rate (we don’t believe in hidden
charges), a comprehensive takeaway breakfast can also be provided for
those leaving on early flights. Fresh ground coffee and a range of
fruit teas compliments our breakfast.
A comfortable guest lounge overlooks our large garden and can be used by
guests at any time. Complimentary fresh fruit is provided in the guest
lounge. There is a large garden with several seating areas which guests
are welcome to make use of during their stay.
Check in is normally from 16:00 and checkout by 10:30 is appreciated. We
try and accommodate earlier arrival/departure times depending on room
availability. Very late arrivals can be accommodated and we also
offer luggage storage if required.
Are you celebrating a special occasion, while your with us, we will be
happy to organise a bottle of special wine or champagne, just let us
know what you require. Also check out the local cake shop, Cake of Your Dreams, again place your order with them and we'll be happy to collect on your behalf.
For the outdoor enthusiasts there is also a secure storage area for
your gear and a drying area. We also have accommodation for small boats on trailers.
The cycle path from Ayr to Glasgow is nearby as are Ayr and Prestwick
sailing clubs. The Ayrshire coastal path which runs through Ayr and
Prestwick is only 300M away from the guest house accommodation. A limited number of long-term parking spaces are
available which can be booked in advance at discounted rates.
Top Tips - Car Hire.
If arriving on late night flights get a taxi from the airport to
your accommodation at the appletree and pick
up your hire car in the morning. This saves you time and money as the hire car
desks are very busy due to all the late night flights arriving between 11 and
12. Also allows you to enjoy a drink on the flight and you don't need to
worry about driving on the wrong side of the road after a long flight. For early morning
flights drop the car off the night before for the same reasons plus you may be able
to enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the time you save. A taxi only costs
£4.

Any guests flying into Glasgow (Prestwick) Airport are entitled to half (50%) price
fares on Scotrail train journeys undertaken on the first or last day of their

Close to Airport and Railway Station
The appletree bed & breakfast guest house accommodation is located in the town of
Prestwick, Ayrshire, Ayr is nearby. Glasgow (Prestwick) airport is within walking distance
of the guest house accommodation (2km), the
railway station is only 1.2km away from the guest house. The town centre is only five minutes
walk and Ayr town centre is easily reached by public transport. The Ayr
Glasgow bus service stops within 1 minutes walk from our accommodation.
Local sport facilities
Many sporting facilities are located within 500m of the B&B and
these include swimming pool, two fitness centres, cricket, tennis and indoor
bowls facilities. Ayr is also home to the Ayr united football team.
Ayr fans are know as pandas. Golf packages can be arranged.
Each golf package can be tailored to individual requirements.
Ayrshire Coastal Path, the designers of the Ayrshire Coastal Patch have
done an excellent job in creating this amazing facility which passes through Ayr, Prestwick and Troon. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is only 300M from our

Seafront
The seafront in only five minutes walk from the B & B and is
ideal for those wishing to enjoy a gentle walk or early morning run. There are
excellent 5K and 10K running routes starting from near the B&B. Or why
not start or end your day at the guest house with a stroll around the seafront, takes about 20 to
25 minutes.
Town centre
The town centre is a gentle five minutes stroll from the guest house and is the
home of many small independent shops and has an excellent range of cafes and
restaurants to suit all tastes at a range of affordable prices. Ayr town
centre is also nearby, Ayr has an excellent range of larger chain
stores.
