Modern bed and breakfast facilities with all rooms en-suite:

Welcome to the appletree website.

Refurbished to a high standard, we can offer you a friendly and comfortable stay in our well appointed rooms, suitable for families or the single traveller. All rooms are on the ground floor level with en-suite shower/wc and are suitable for those with restricted mobility. Our home was built around 1885 yet the guest accommodation has a modern feel and still retains many of the original features. Recently graded by the Scottish Tourist board and Visit Scotland as three stars.

Free internet access is available throughout the property. We are fully approved by Ayrshire Council and have modern fire alarm and detection systems installed. There is a large garden with several seating areas which guests are welcome to make use of during their stay.

We serve a full Scottish or continental breakfast and a sample menu is at the bottom of this page, a takeaway breakfast is available for those leaving us for early flights.

We have a travel cot and high chair and welcome children.

Arrival can be any time after 15:30, checkout by 10:30 is appreciated. We may be able to accommodate luggage storage or other arrival/departure times depending on room availability.

For the outdoor enthusiasts there is also a secure storage area for your gear and a drying area.  Small boats on trailers can also accommodated.  A limited number of long-term parking spaces are available which can be booked in advance at discounted rates.

Top Tips - Car Hire.

If arriving on late night flights get a taxi from the airport to appletree and pick up your hire car in the morning.  This saves you time and money as the hire car desks are very busy due to all the late night flights arriving between 11 and 12.  Also allows you to enjoy a drink on the flight and you don't need to worry about driving on the wrong side of the road after a long flight.  For early morning flights drop the car off the night before for the same reasons plus you may be able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast with the time you save.  A taxi only costs £4.

Close to Airport and Railway Station

The appletree bed & breakfast guest house accommodation is located in the town of Prestwick, Ayrshire. The airport is within walking distance (2km), the railway station is only 1.2km away. The town centre is only five minutes walk and Ayr town centre is easily reached by public transport.

Local sport facilities

Many sporting facilities are located within 500m of the B&B and these include swimming pool, two fitness centres, cricket, tennis and indoor bowls facilities.

Seafront

The seafront in only five minutes walk from the B & B and is ideal for those wishing to enjoy a gentle walk or early morning run. There are excellent 5K and 10K running routes starting from near the B&B.  Or why not start or end your day with a stroll around the seafront, takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

Town centretre

The town centre is a gentle five minutes stroll and is the home of many small independent shops and has an excellent range of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes at a range of affordable prices.
